Established in 1977, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization. Our mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.

Sea Shepherd uses innovative direct-action tactics to investigate, document, and take action when necessary to expose and confront illegal activities on the high seas. By safeguarding the biodiversity of our delicately-balanced ocean ecosystems, Sea Shepherd works to ensure their survival for future generations.

Lake Erie Conservation - The Nature Conservancy
www.nature.org/ -  http://www.nature.org/

The Nature Conservancy is working to protect Lake Erie and the rest of the Great Lakes region through land acquisition and restoration, education, and advocacy.

The Conservancy is acquiring, restoring and managing land throughout the Lake Erie basin, including the Maumee River watershed - the largest tributary discharging into Lake Erie - and the Grand River watershed, another major tributary.

We are advocating for policy initiatives that control invasive species and set limits on water extraction from the Great Lakes.

Conservancy scientists are developing a Lake Erie conservation action plan to guide the next steps within the highest priority areas of the Lake Erie basin.

Conservancy scientists are locating and protecting stopover sites on the western shores of Lake Erie most critical to migratory birds.

The Conservancy is working with partners to develop best practices for the early detection, prevention and management of invasive species.

The Algalita Marine Research Foundation is dedicated to the protection of the marine environment and its watersheds through research, education, and restoration.
Algalita is moving full speed ahead on several research projects which will shed light on one of the most under-recognized yet ubiquitous issues facing our planet; plastics debris in our oceans. Algalita's research team is at the forefront of the investigation into plastic pollution in our oceans. The team is examining both the scope of plastic contamination and the implications this pollution has on the food chain. The focus of Algalita's current research includes the prevalence and quantification of plastic debris, biological impact on marine life, and the desorption of plastic toxins into the ambient ocean water.

The Myelin Project
www.myelin.org -  http://www.myelin.org/

The Myelin Project is an international scientific research organization aimed at accelerating clinical and translational research focused on Myelin repair.
The Myelin Project aims to accelerate research on myelin repair. Myelin can be destroyed by hereditary neurodegenerative disorders such as the leukodystrophies, and by acquired diseases such as multiple sclerosis. All together, demyelinating diseases affect more than two million people worldwide.
Behind the Myelin Project is a multinational gathering of families struck by one demyelinating disease or another. Refusing to accept the conventional view that science cannot be hurried, they resolved to advance the moment when myelin could be restored. They have done this by creating a framework in which researchers can cooperate effectively, by giving scientists adequate, prompt financing and by continuously interacting with them.

The Campaign to Help Buffalo's Poor and Homeless

Everday, Buffalo City Mission has the privilege of offering someone hope through a hot meal that's been provided by friends like you.

Because this ministry of meals is so important -- so critical in reaching hurting lives -- the Mission is launching the One Mission...One Hope campaign. The goal is to feed Buffalo's homeless and hungry people for the holidays.

All of these hurting folks desperately need a good, hot meal, encouragement that someone cares, and hope for a brighter future. You can provide all of this and more over the next 120 days. Give generously. Change a life forever
